The Site - poultryOne.com is the final evolution of the Farmlinks Poultry Resource Project. We are the only poultry website that combines the power of the poultryOne brand name with intelligent, full-featured web-based resources. We have been #1 by the Open Directory Project's editor(s), "Reviewers Rave" and 5 Out of 5 Stars on Amazon.com, and fully ranked by every major search engine. Since our official re-launch in 2004, poultryOne has gained critical acclaim throughout the poultry world. Incorporating pure poultry knowledge with intuitive Internet tools, we have helped hundreds of thousands of small-scale farmers and hobbyists around the world discover the joys of raising chickens successfully.
The Mission - poultryone.com's simple mission is to make the poultry hobby accessible to everyone around the world. We accomplish this goal via several means:
- Free dissemination of poultry information (we will never charge for any of our online data!).
- Crucial research and honest journalism concerning the care of poultry.
- Providing continually-innovative informational support to poultry hobbyists.
We are constantly investigating new means of improving the hobby. In 2005, we launched a brand new online forum that supports the exchange of ideas and facilitates important social networking among hobbyists. That same year, we also began publishing a gamebird-centric web site specifically for gamebird fanciers. In 2006, we revamped our Merchant Services to give small, family-run businesses advertising leverage to promote their products. In 2008, we enhanced the social networking capabilities of our online forums with new online tools to allow hobbyists additional means to connect with other small-scale farmers around the globe.
The People - poultryOne is a one-man project founded, operated and funded by Joshua Duvauchelle. Josh originally started poultryOne in his pre-teens and is currently a university student.
We occasionally receive assistance from visitors and members who donate articles or other resources to our site. Past volunteers and supporters include some big names, such as Glenda L. Heywood from the National Poultry News (NPN), K.J. Theodore courtesy of ShagbarkBantams.com, and Dr. Leland B. Hayes, author of the well-known gamebird ezine at LelandHayes.com.
Our online community, a core component of the poultryOne experience, receives considerable support by volunteer moderators JamesC and RonL. Without their considerable donations of time and expertise, our forums would not be the friendly, open community that it is.
Other Stuff - poultryOne.com cares about the world. We donate a portion of our monthly profit to non-profit organizations working to solve world hunger. If you would like to support us, please buy something from our bookstore, purchase advertising, or donate $2 to our projects.
