Default I guess I'm next

Hello everyone:
I'm 20 years old and a volunteer firefighter/student. I guess since I don't have a place of my own yet, I guess I ought to just talk about my future plans... I hope to have a farm someday (possibly) and become a professional firefighter...
My mom and me right now are raising about 21 chicks: all except one are silkies. The other is an Araconda. Weird mix, eh? Oh well.
Anything else ya want to know? Just ask.

In Christ,
Jesse

My name is Josh and I am the illustrious webmaster. Hehe. I am 19 years old and a very poor college student majoring in Communications. I've been raising chickens off and on for about 6 years, so compared to some of you I'm a newbie. A usual day for me is getting up, going to work, going to school, coming home, working on poultryOne.com, doing homework, going to sleep....repeat.

I felt so young, but I'm glad to have someone around here that's around my age range.

Also... off the subject a bit... Josh, if you need any help with the board just let me know... I am more than glad to help out.

My, My, My. I know we all talk to each other like we're the same gender & age (like friends - the way it should be).......... But, is there anyone out there close to my age???

Anyway, Hi.... ...I'm 62, retired for 8 years, live in the country on approx 21 acres. Watch all kinds of wildlife from the house. Two kids live in NJ ...... Son 38 yrs, daughter 34 yrs. Grandmom had chickens. I've had them for one year. Learned a lot from books and this forum. Learned mostly from questions asked and answered here. So please don't hesitate to ask (the only dumb question is the one not asked). Someone besides the asker will learn from the seemingly, trivial question. Learned that chickens are very predictable, habit and action wise. Have lots more to learn. Thanks for reading ...

Well a little about me.

I am a guy.
Yep its true.I live in Florida, originally from MA.I'm getting on in years too.29 Isn't young you know.
I breed reptiles to bring home the bacon, and I sell quite a few feeder rodents as well.
I don't live on a farm, but I sure do have enough animals to fill one.
To open an animal park has been one of my dreams for a while now.A few gators,crocs,20 foot pythons;just to name a few things to fill it with.
But before I do all that;I'm settling with just opening my own reptile specialty shop.
You guys are probably thinking I'm some weirdo, aren't you?lol
No,I'm just a normal guy that's likes animals,in particular, the ones that tend to like to remove fingers and give you stitchesBut I love'em all.
And here's some of what I own,lol or what owns me.If you were wondering.
Plus I have my 2 hens,rooster,and 2 chics.I also own a lot more spiders(to many to name)And a few more snakes.
I think that's it,Don't know what else to say.If you want to know anything else just ask

Hi - I enjoy having chickens. I thought if I found a website with others who enjoyed this too how great that would be. So Hi

I am 51, married 29 years, three kids ages 21,25,27, and a new grandma with two more grandbabies on the way.

My husband and I only have 2 rhode island red hens and one arakana rooster at present. (Just enough to keep us in eggs) I would like a broody hen tho. I like a new hen each year and cull the older hens who might be passed her laying time.

Our chickens usually run free in the daytime and roost in the coop at night. Unless of course the weather is snowy or rainy and then they stay in!!! Me, too.

That all for now! See ya in the posts.

Hehe. I won't point out that while I can still say I am a teenager, *you* are "over the hill". Hm, looks like I just pointed that out. Haha.

Poor Ron....

Tefoe, WOW. That's some farm you've got going there! Amazing collection, and I hope you do get around to accomplishing your dream. I am sure it would be a fantastic animal park, and I would visit it if I was ever in the area. How did you start raising reptiles?

Hi guys, well lets see,,,,I am 38  , and have 1 awesome daughter, and great husband. 2 horses, 4 ducks, 30 chickens(at last count), 3 guenias, 1 dog, and 3 cats.
We live in northern Ill, right along the Ill river, we have 4.7 acres, with 2.5 more to be bought this summer.

I have had animals my whole life, but just got into chicknens, 3 years ago. I know now, not only will I be the crazy old cat lady, but the crazy old chicken lady, as they call me now!

We have a mixed bunch of chickens, 1 light Brahma, 1 blk cochin(sp) banty hen, and the rest are Americanas.

My ducks are Indian Runners, and the gunieas are pearls.

Horses, 1 stock paint, and a Welsh pony, both rescued.

2 Hymies cats, and a Maine Coon.

Dog is a wonderful mixed breed, Keeshound & Lab, she is awesome too!!!

Been married 11 years, and daughter is 10. I own and operate a beauty shop in my home. Been a hair stylist for 19 yrs now!! 8O That sounds like such a long time, but it seems like just yesterday, that I recieved my degree.

Love this site, and ALL the folks here!!!!!

Thank you Josh for creating it! Ya little crumb cruncher you!!! LOL!! *just teasing*
